Meet Your School Counselors

Hello Prospect Heights Yellow Jackets and Parents!

 

My name is Vanessa Ward and I am excited to work with the students at PHMS.  This is my 2nd year as a School Counselor and prior to that, I worked with children in foster care for 15 years.

 

I graduated with a bachelor's in Sociology from Concord University and obtained a master's degree in School Counseling from Capella University.

 

A little about me: I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three sons.  As they keep me busy, the majority of our weekends are spent traveling for AAU basketball.  When we are not traveling, I enjoy hanging out at home, shopping at Costco, playing with our dog, reading, baking, cooking, hiking, challenging any and everyone with sports (I'm very competitive) and watching Florida State University football.  Go 'Noles!

 

I work primarily with grades 6th and 8th but I am available to help and support all students within our learning community.  I look forward to an amazing year working with students to facilitate academic, career, and social/emotional growth.
